It dates from the end of the 18th century or the beginning of the 19th century -- around 1780/1820 -- and comes from the Volga region of Russia.
In the Byzantine style, this icon is finely painted in tempera (paint based on egg yolk and natural pigments). The background has a beautiful gilding bringing light and depth to the composition.
Very good general condition. Small cracks and wear of time.
