Icon Of The Mother Of God "the Unfading Flower", Greece, 18th Century / Virgin Mary

Beautiful and Charming icon of the Mother of God called "Immortal Flower" or "The Unfading Flower." It comes from Greece and dates from the mid-18th century, around 1740-1760.
This iconographic representation is a particularly poetic and touching subject: Mary's beauty shines eternally -- like a flower that would never fade -- thanks to her infinite love for humanity and for her son.
Mary is represented in bust holding a sprig of flowers -- symbol of love and purity.
To her left, the Child Jesus is standing on a bed of flowers and plant. He is dressed as the king of the universe and holds the attributes of his omnipotence: a globe and a scepter. At the top of the composition, two angels crown the Mother of God, symbolizing her celestial dimension.
The icon is finely painted in tempera (a mixture of egg yolk and natural pigments). The background and garnments are gilded with gold leaf, symbol of divine light.
Fairly good overall condition considering its age. The wooden panel is structurally sound but has some gaps and old traces of insect attacks, now neutralized. Wear to the pictorial layer.
