The art of gardens in the 18th century was so accomplished that the construction of the factories, and its plan was carried out before the construction of the residence it was to embellish. The gardens of Albertas, between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, attest to this practice, since the country house was never built there. This drawing, made at the end of the 18th century, shows a decor, placed at the edge of the garden, on the boundary wall, in the form of a temple, and receiving a statue in the antique style. The style of the building is totally Italian, these decorations are common in villas, to finish the perspective of an alley. It is also widespread in Provence The drawing is stuck (probably at the time) on a pink cardboard typical of the 18th century. Some small folds otherwise good condition. Sold for the moment unframed.
