"Marseille Earthenware, De Robert Factory. Plate Circa 1770."
The faience factories of Marseille, until the revolution of 1789, excelled in the production of pieces with refined, sometimes even extravagant, always brilliants decorations. This plate decorated with a flower bed and strewn with small insects is pure joy. This decoration is a classic of the Gaspard Robert factory, which shares it with some variations with that of the Veuve Perrin. On the back the pernettes are tinted green and two slightly crushed signatures of the same green are present. Except for a chip on the edge at the back, invisible from the front, it is in perfect condition.
