Oil on canvas signed Primitif Bono (1880-1955), entitled: "Grasse, Le vieux Passage". It represents the atypical and characteristic vault of the rue de la Fontette, located in the heart of the Old Town of Grasse.
This vault has largely inspired and attracted painters, photographers and tourists over time due to its irregular shape, located in a medieval street, narrow, winding and at the time very crowded....
Painting characteristic of P. Bono, thick, with a lot of material and very colorful. We also find his touch of Orientalist painter in the way the characters in the background are treated.
We see people, a store with a stall in front, a person on a balcony. There are even chickens walking freely, a beautiful scene of animated life representative of life in the heart of small towns at the time.
The painting measures 55x36cm without the frame, and 94x57cm with the frame. The frame is a modern one.
