Late 18th Century Swedish Wedding Chest In Polychrome Pine
A charming Swedish polychrome pine chest. The slightly domed top is decorated with rosettes bearing the initials of the bride and groom, adorned with ribboned garlands of flowers, and dated 1795. The front is decorated with the same rosettes, each featuring a wreath at its center, surrounded by garlands of flowers and ribbons. The side handles are made of twisted wrought iron. The sides are dovetailed. The interior contains a jewelry box. Some wear, cracks, and loss of polychrome decoration are visible in the photos, but overall it remains in fairly good condition.
