Lovely marble statue representing a child washing his shirt kneeling on a rock, mounted on a later marble base. The child is just dressed in a shirt with beautifully sculpted lace. Pretty face revealing a discreet smile.
The child has beautiful, chubby cheeks typical of sculptures from this period. The hair is well defined, with a center part and mid-length hair. Region of
Rome late 16th very early 17th. Height of the sculpture alone: 28cm, width 12cm, depth 16cm.
A few small dents, and a scratch on the clothing, very clearly visible in the photos.
