Important Pair Of Five-light Giltwood Sconces, 19th Century
- Large pair of giltwood sconces with five light arms, work dating from the 19th century.
- Each sconce is composed of a plate with a tapered profile and a semi-circular sheath, its sculpture presents a varied ornamental vocabulary (from bottom to top): a gadrooned base, vertically arranged bay leaves, a body in the middle part with spiral fluting, a twisted gadroon molding, vertical leaves, an interlacing frieze and finally a flame giving the appearance of a flaming torch.
