Beautiful portrait painted on copper, oval in shape, showing the face of a serious young girl, oriental beauty, wearing the blue Christian veil with gold edging.
This veil is painted in a rough material, in contrast with her face, painted with glaze and varnished.
Painter's intention was perhaps to represent the young Mary, before Annunciation….
Period late 18th or early 19th century
This painting is in a discovered condition, with losses on edge, scratch on the right cheek, and this varnish a little opaque that should be lightened.
