Pair of miniatures on ivory depicting portraits of lightly dressed young girls. Work from the very beginning of the 19th century. The backgrounds are enhanced with cloudy skies. Oval in shape, these portraits are presented in bronze frames finely chiseled with palmettes and foliage scrolls, lined with solid mahogany frames provided with suspension rings. The paintings are protected by slightly bubbled period blown glass. These portraits are signed by Louis François Aubry, a painter active at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century.
