Juliette Peyrol-Bonheur presented a painting called A Flock of Geese at the 1855 Salon, which is now unknown, so it is possible that our work is the preparatory study for this painting. On the back, a handwritten label mentions a Medal at the London Exhibition where our painter used to exhibit as well as an Exhibition of the Mazarin Arts Society.
