Gaston Domergue (1885 - 1927) is a French painter whose work focuses mainly on landscapes, seaside, barges and nature scenes. Working in oil on canvas or cardboard, he adopted a realistic style, sometimes tinged with impressionist influences. His compositions, often small in format, subtly evoke the tranquil atmospheres of the French countryside, notably the cliffs of Étretat or the tree-lined rivers. Although he is not attached to a major artistic movement, his work demonstrates a great sensitivity to light and detail.
