An extraordinary salon bench carved in walnut, an emblematic example of Venetian Baroque woodcraft virtuosity. The structure is supported by four fully sculpted satyrs, seated with crossed legs, who simultaneously serve as supports and armrests: a bold and theatrical compositional solution closely reminiscent of the plastic invention of Andrea Brustolon (1662–1732). The satyrs, muscular and vibrant in anatomical tension, bear scroll-shaped armrests carved with naturalistic and foliate details. The expressive and dynamic rendering of the human body clearly reflects the Berninian influence so dear to the Belluno-born sculptor. The seat, upholstered in precious crimson damask silk with swirling vegetal motifs, adds a regal touch to the ensemble, enhancing the contrast between the luminous fabric and the warm patina of the carved wood. A piece of great aesthetic impact and rare charm, this bench is not merely a piece of furniture but a true functional sculpture, a perfect example of Venetian Baroque decorative art.
