Yari Samurai Spear - Edo Period (1603-1868).
JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868). Samurai Yari spear. Long wooden shaft, the last quarter decorated with a braided rope hoof, ringed brown lacquer and two gilded copper rings. Straight "Ho" spear blade of triangular section, double-edged and small throat, it is protected by a green and gold lacquered saya. At the other end a metal cap formerly lacquered black "Hirumaki" to protect the shaft from damage by contact with the ground. Dimensions: 252 x 4 x 4 cm. Length of the tip with the tang: 36.5 cm. Sold with the base. Dimensions with the base: 252 x 18 x 18 cm.
