Rajput khanda (or tegha)
Northern India, probably Rajasthan or the Deccan, 17th century.
Heavy saber with a broad steel blade, strongly flared and curved
toward the tip, featuring a thick guard reinforced with
cut-out side plates.
Khanda-style pommel, with a large basket guard made of
forged steel, a flat circular protective disc above the grip, and
a long tubular pommel topped by a spherical knob and a
vertical shaft.
A North Indian khanda (or tegha), with a broad, flaring steel blade
with a reinforced forte; iron basket hilt with a large disc guard and a long
pommel spike, 17th century.
