Notes: Ikebana, or the Japanese art of floral arrangement, has its origins in the floral offerings placed in Buddhist temples. Far beyond a simple decorative arrangement, it is based on a search for balance between lines, shapes, empty spaces, and natural elements. Each branch, leaf, or flower is carefully selected and arranged to express the harmony between humanity and nature, while highlighting the fleeting beauty of life. Practiced according to various schools, ikebana is a truly contemplative discipline, closely linked to Japanese aesthetic sensibility and spirituality.
