"Jean-baptiste Pigalle (1714-1785) - Large Spelter Clock."
Large double-patina spelter clock, based on the original marble work by Jean Baptiste Pigalle (1714-1785) preserved at the Louvre Museum. A young and athletic Mercury is weaving his winged heels, his caduceus on the ground under his leg. The spelter sculpture is fixed on a sea green marble base, mounted on adjustable feet. Beautiful presentation of the whole despite some friction. The operation of the clock is to be seen (pencil and key provided). Note that the hinge of the dial glass is unsoldered.
