18th Century Chantilly Porcelain Cream Cup And Lid

Rare anyway, rarer for coming complete with cover, and rarer still for being in excellent undamaged condition, this French, Chantilly soft-paste porcelain custard cup and cover was made ca.1750 and is decorated with floral sprigs and sprays in underglaze blue.

Maker’s marks: Hunting horn in underglaze blue to base.

Measurements:
Height (inc cover): 8.4cm (3.3in)
Width (inc handle): 8.4cm (3.3in)

Condition: Excellent. No damage or restoration found (examined under UV light). A couple of tiny glaze “pits” and a tiny overglazed indentation in the edge of the base rim visible under high magnification. Nothing post-production.
