Circa 1930-1950 Bengal India Vaporous Indian sari in brocaded cotton from Bengal called Jamdani in 453 cm long by 110 cm wide! Indigo-dyed cotton veil brocaded with geometric Mughal-inspired patterns in white and gold. The gold brocaded is made of gilded spun blades with a silk core. In new antique condition having retained its finish. Perfect for a curtain. Jamdani is a technique of weaving and brocading cotton threads on a handloom whose tradition dates back to the 17th century. Some publications in English including the very informative exhibition and publication entitled Woven Air. Very well preserved. Dimensions: 453 cm long by 110 cm wide in width.
