French school circa 1800 I: "La Château de Mauzun", pen drawing 19 X 35 cm, mounted by a gilt beveled mat board in a pretty 19th century gilt leaf frame 48 X 59 cm (missing on the outer frieze). Numerous light foxings. See also the other two.
Curiously titled 'Château de Mozun', perhaps a phonetic spelling, executed on the motif with topographical precision, this beautiful drawing shows us an exceptional site in Auvergne, one of the rare fortified castles in Puy-de-Dôme not to have been dismantled.
