Original charcoal drawing representing the Virgin and Child. Softness and grace are very well rendered in the expression of the two subjects. A beautiful Empire period frame with palmette decorations and hearts having retained its original gold leaf completes the enhancement of this beautiful execution. The old glass is also original. Note a small restoration on the right inner edge of the frame, see photos. The handwritten mention "Drawn by ..des Cars" appears on the cardboard at the back.
