Large English Truncated Perfume Bottle, Victorian Era, 19th Century. Plant Decoration, Art Nouveau

Magnificent and large English perfume bottle from the Victorian era, influenced by Art Nouveau.

The silver bottle is truncated in shape, entirely decorated with repoussé scrollwork of acanthus leaves, with a cartouche left in reserve.

This very organic decoration is characteristic of the Victorian style influenced by Art Nouveau, which spread throughout Europe.

The screw cap features the same decoration.

The bottle is hallmarked:
. Lion passant for solid English silver
. Leopard's head for the City of London
. Date letter Q for the year 1891-1892
. Silversmith's mark FBM for Frederick Bradford McCrea, active from 1880
