"Chiffoniere Stamped Jean Popsel, 18th Century "
Louis XVI Chiffonnière or Salon Table, Stamped Jean POPSEL + JME (Jurande des Maîtres Ébénistes). Oval in shape, it is topped with Carrara Marble surrounded by an openwork Gallery in gilded Bronze. It opens on the front with a Drawer which acts as a writing desk with its top covered with green leather and small compartments on the right side. It stands on 4 sheathed feet, connected by a Marquetry spacer surrounded by a Bronze Gallery and fitted with small bronze clogs. Our Chiffonnière measures 49 CM in Length, 37 CM in Width and 71 CM in Height. It is in very good condition. POPSEL Jean Jean Popsel (Born in 1720) Cabinetmaker. Master on July 5, 1755.
