"Buddhist Votive Plaque In Repoussé Copper – Tibet Or Nepal, Late 19th / Early 20th Century"
Rare ritual plaque in repoussé copper, finely chiseled, representing a bodhisattva seated in meditation on a lotus throne, surrounded by two secondary figures, dragons, celestial clouds and auspicious Buddhist symbols (Ashtamangala). The relief work is of great finesse, typical of traditional Himalayan religious productions. Probably of Tibetan or Nepalese origin, this piece was intended to be fixed in a place of worship or used as a portable devotional object. Beautiful old patina, localized green oxidation, wear consistent with age. Not restored.
