"Wrought Iron Hearth Rack - 17th Century"
Wrought iron rack 12th century decorated with a fleur-de-lis It integrates into its decoration a tree of life. The upper part of the rack is decorated with a fleur-de-lis. The fixing ring is movable around its axis. It is missing its hook part(s). I think that it must have carried a horizontal bar with 3 hooks (presence of 3 holes which were probably used to fix this bar). The terminal hook is also missing, linked to the very strong corrosion of the object = aggressiveness of the fire over a long period (materialized by the thinness of the iron in the terminal part). Very beautiful object which despite its condition remains very decorative. See the photos of details. Its weight is 6.0 kg for what remains of it. Its closed height is 150 cm. Open to the last notch, its deployed height is 201 cm
