Louis XV Alcove Sofa In Lacquered Wood, 19th Century. (176cm).

Lovely Louis XV style sofa dating from the 19th century. It rests on six legs, four in front and two at the back. It is entirely upholstered in sky blue and white silk with rich printed floral decorations. This sofa comes with its mattress, a large back cushion, two small cushions and two bolsters. The upholstery is of very good quality, each cushion is filled with feathers. The two small cushions have zippers for easy cleaning. The tapestry patterns continue from the back to the mattress, including the cushions (photo 4). A sign of very meticulous work. The patterns on the bolsters also follow the tapestry on the sides. The cream lacquered woodwork is richly molded. The curved legs are carved with floral decorations. One of the main features of its cabinetmaking is the work of the inward return of the ends of the sides, giving it a lot of elegance and warmth. This piece is also upholstered at the back, allowing it to be placed in the middle of the room. This sofa is in very good condition, with its original lacquer cracked and worn in places giving it all its charm. Dimensions: 176cm wide, 98cm high, and 76cm deep.
