Meissen porcelain "Drunken Silenus on a donkey"Height: 21 cmWidth: 22 cmDepth: 12 cmOn the reverse, a mark in underglaze blue depicting crossed swordsengraved model number "2724", stamped number "52" and mark "58". Black brush.According to the model maker Ernst August Leuteritz (1818-1893) around 1850.On the rock relief is a group of a drunken Silenus, seated, hunched, on a donkey, supported by a young Bacchus standing next to him. The Bacchante, lying on the ground in front of the animal, tempts the donkey with vine leaves and a basket of wine. Behind the donkey, Cupid pulls the animal by the tail. The twig that Bacchus held as a whip in his left hand is probably missing, judging by the leaves on the donkey's buttocks.
