Louis XVI Period Scent Box, Scent Cellar
Louis XVI period scent box. Late 18th century. This box is veneered with rosewood on all sides. The top is inlaid with a frame of three green and yellow stained wooden fillets. It has a bronze handle. The interior is decorated with a compass and original silk fabric. It holds a set of four bottles with their stoppers, a glass, and a silver funnel. The bottom of the lid features a mercury mirror. The original lock is functional and has an antique key. Recent french polish finish. Dimensions: L 23.5 x D 18 x H 14 (height of a bottle 11)
