Large Celadon Porcelain Vase With A Gilded Bronze Mount
Large celadon porcelain vase. 19th-century China. This baluster-shaped vase is made of crackled porcelain with a Guan-style glaze. It is adorned with gilded bronze mounts in the Louis XVI style. The neck is decorated with a band of pearls. The base rests on an octagonal pedestal with recessed corners, decorated with fluted panels and topped by a circular frieze featuring laurel leaf motifs. The entire piece is very finely chiseled. The gilding is original (showing signs of wear).
