Large Directoire-era Dining Table
Large Directoire-period dining table. Late 18th century. It rests on six tapered legs ending in bronze clogs and barrel-shaped casters. The banded apron is adorned with a chamfer and a quarter-round brass molding. The sliding mechanisms are original and fully functional. This table comes with 5 (recent) 55-cm extensions featuring banded moldings adorned with brass moldings similar to those on the table. The set can be extended to a total length of 4 meters. The table is painted matte black with a waxed finish.
