Regency Wardrobe In Violet Wood

Small cabinet in violet wood veneer which opens with two leaves and has an elegant ogee sash. Its lively base rests harmoniously on small arched feet surrounded by enveloping gilded bronze sabots, giving the whole a light and refined look.
Violet wood veneer, arranged in geometric and chevron patterns, highlights the warmth and nuances of this precious material.

The ornamentation is rich and consists of finely chiseled gilded bronzes, brought back in the 19th century, modeled on the bronzes of Cressent furniture.
There are beaded sticks finely chiseled with acanthus leaves, in the upper part highlighting the contours of the furniture and separated in the center by a medallion with Queen-style decoration bordered with floral scrolls.
Baguettes framing the lower part surmount the base.
The center is magnificently decorated with large openwork ornamentation, finely chiseled, decorated with palmettes, acanthus leaves, scrolls and clusters.
The very finely crafted fittings are decorated with beaded palmettes surrounded by a shell in the middle and highlighted with foliage and grape clusters. Each side is decorated in its center with a graceful mascaron. This mask of Apollo with knotted and winged hair reinforces the luxurious character of the piece.
The apron with a pattern of palmettes, scrolls and acanthus leaves highlights the grace of this piece of furniture.
The interior reveals 3 shelves with adjustable height.

Beautiful work partly from the Regency period.
