Magnificent and rare pair of antique silver-plated bronze candlesticks dating from the second half of the 19th century.

The ornamental repertoire of the candlesticks is entirely focused on antiquity:
The stems of the candlesticks consist of a bust of a woman in term, decorated with offcuts of bases, acanthus leaves and roses.
Each foot is decorated with two lighted torches in applique, as a reminder of the function of the object.
Friezes of posts and palmettes adorn the sockets.

The faces of the women are very pure and finely executed, as are the drapery, the hair and the other ornamental elements.
The busts are massive and voluntary, in beautiful round bosse.

The candlesticks are mounted on a threaded rod.

The silvering is of very good quality and very thick.

Magnificent pair of torches, rare models with female busts in terms, of very good quality with superb silvering.
