Miniature Enamel And Silver Pendant Ladies With Moorish Page Mid 19th Century
A silver gilt mount surrounds this miniature of an unusual subject painted in enamel on a domed porcelain plaque.
The scene depicts three young women in 18th century dress on a boat with a Venetian-style awning.
In the foreground, a young Moorish page sits at the feet of a lady and embraces her with his arms.
On the right side a second young woman plays the guitar, in the shadow of the awning a third lady rests.
Unusual subject, refined colors, good size! Unmarked silver gilt, tested with a touchstone.
Romantic period around 1840.
Please note: This jewel was formerly a brooch whose system no longer exists, a ring inserted in a volute of the mount makes it a perfect pendant!
Dimensions 5.7cm x 5cm.
Weight 15g
