Hediao - Carved Chinese Nuts

Here are three beautiful Juglans nuts finely hand-carved, representing Luohan monks hidden in a decor of flowers and leaves.
In the middle of one of these nuts, a dragon and a cat are hidden. One of the fruits is deliquescent, we can hear the residual "powder" inside, testifying to its age. The kernels can be heard by shaking the other two nuts.
Also called "convict work" at their origin.
Average diameter: 40 mm
Travel souvenir object, circa 1900-1950. Beautiful patina.
One of the three nuts is cracked on one of the two sides of the shell, however stable, cracking of the wood of the shell over time (visible in the last photo).
