Beautiful object, precious polished steel necklace threaded of oval meshs, like so many fine stones, unengraved central plate with gilded cartouche, drum clasp and small key, 3-hole adjustment, manufacturer's mark: Warranted wrought. Probably Birmingham work, circa 1850/60.
Overall dimensions: 28.5cm x 1.5cm.
Maximum diameter of the animal's neck: 8.5cm.
Condition is good, wear from use, could be better polished. Small key is easy to handle, but you must not lose it, otherwise, drum axis can turn with a watch key or music box, or small pliers…
