Large Empire Clock ''diane Chasseresse'' In Gilded Bronze
Empire period, circa 1810.
Large model in chiseled bronze with double brown and gold patina.
Diana the huntress seated on a patinated bronze rock in which the movement is inscribed.
In the center a waterfall effect decorated with reeds.
She holds prey in one hand and her quiver in the other.
Large white enameled dial, signed Picnot (watchmaker active in Paris around 1810), countersigned intaglio on the rear plate.
Large rectangular base with rounded sides decorated with a hunting scene, duck trophies and winged griffins.
Rests on six spinning top legs.
Superb quality of execution. Original mercury gilding.
Movement with silk thread suspension. In good working order. Strikes the hours and half-hours. Balance, bell and key provided.
