Large plaster bust representing the goddess Athena.
Inspired by the helmeted statue of Athena known as “Pallas de Velletri” from the 1st century and discovered at the end of the 18th century, Musée du Louvre, inv. Ma 464.
The goddess of war is represented with her head tilted slightly forward, looking down, which suggests that this bust was probably positioned high in a niche.
