A Closer Look at the Work ®
A highly free and luminous style, in which nature is suggested rather than described. The composition appears built around dense, shifting vegetation, enlivened by a multitude of colorful touches that fragment the space. The forms remain deliberately simplified—almost abstract.
The palette combines warm yellows, pale blues, turquoise greens, and ochres, creating a vibrant balance between freshness and sunlight. The rendering of the sky and foliage through small hatch marks and dabs of color evokes Post-Impressionist and Divisionist techniques, in the spirit of Paul Signac or Henri-Edmond Cross.
The pastel medium fully exploits the texture of the surface: layered strokes, areas of exposed paper, and transparencies create a sense of continuous vibration. The work possesses great gestural spontaneity while maintaining a balanced composition. It conveys an impression of nature alive, bathed in light and movement.
