Marble 'pompadour' Model Fireplace, Ca.1870
This late 19th century fireplace was made out of the French marble Bois Jourdan. This fireplace has the characteristics of the Louis XV fireplaces, but kept humble. The model is Pompadour 'en l'honneur de madame', the favourite mistress of King Louis XV. The canted and panelled jambs supporting a curved frieze with an circle-medaillon in the center. Perfect condition. This fireplace will be delivered with old marble floortiles, to make a frontfloor. Inclusiv the original firedags-pair of cast-iron.
