Ewer Sterling Silver Victorian Armada Jug
Large solid silver ewer (tested & weight: 850g) Victorian style work from the 19th century bearing five hallmarks. Elegant Cellini Wine Sterling Silver model in the form of an Armada Jug with a long neck and a trigger hinged lid with a C-shaped scroll handle enlivened with a rich decoration of vine branches in high relief. The bulbous body is decorated with floral scrolls and crosspieces bordered with acanthus leaves, note that the central part is decorated with a cartouche bearing a coat of arms surmounted by a marquis crown supported by heraldic griffins. The whole resting on a gorget base highlighted with a frieze of pensile flowers and buds. Good condition. Dimensions: 33 cm high x 17 cm wide.
