Very large baroque style presentation dish in solid silver bearing hallmarks of convenience made in the city of Hanau in the late nineteenth century. This German city specialized in the production of eclectic and historical silverware in the styles of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Around 1900, a census counted 22 firms and almost 1000 goldsmith workers within the city .... This sumptuous oval dish is entirely handmade in repoussé silver.
