Eric Detthow : "the Magnolia Bouquet"

Eric Detthow (1888-1952): “Le bouquet de magnolia”, oil on cardboard 50 X 60 cm, mounted in a beautiful Parnassian frame 61 X 70 cm. Several difficult to read labels on the back suggest that the painting dates from 1927 and participated in a retrospective in 1959 at Boulevard Haussmann. Swedish painter from the School of Paris, he participated in the Swedish Art exhibition of 1929 while exhibiting in the Parisian Galleries and Salons of Nudes, Still Lifes, and Landscapes. Treated in a limited range of colors and in a typically Art-Deco stylization reminiscent of his contemporaries Kisling and Tamara de Lempicka.
