French school circa 1890: "Marquise de La Porta", pastel 18 X 14 cm, unframed, three layers of support: a cardboard covered with "telephone" style scribbles annotated many times "1789" and various other inscriptions, a panel of wood on which is inscribed the supposed name of the model, and a blue closing paper. Worm work having pierced the pastel in three places. The clothing of the model, characteristic of the fashion of the time with her cap on powdered hair and a veil closed by a rose on the shoulders and a blue dress highlights the skin tone of the delicately traced face..
