James Anderson : "saint-paul-outside-the-walls, Rome"

James Anderson (1813-1877) : "Interior of Saint-Paul-Outside-The-Walls in Rome", large photo on albumen paper of an original format, 55 X 84 cm, glued in full on the mounting board 75 X 105 cm, it bears the dry stamp of the photographer and presents some foxing and scratches. A primitive photographer of English origin, settled in Rome in 1838, he multiplied the views of the Eternal City, which tourists and other travelers on the Grand Tour were fond of. Although he made several views of the interior of this church, I have never seen photos of this size, even in public collections.
