Object description :

"France Circa 1840: Embroidery “joseph Explaining The Dreams Of Pharaoh”"
France circa 1840 : “Joseph interpreting the dreams of Pharaoh”, fine embroidery on canvas 52 x 41 cm on which the limbs and faces are painted, mounted in a beautiful Louis-Philippe frame 64 x 53 cm (small accidents). Titled in full length “Songes de Pharaon”, without glass, framed by Maison Laudet in Toulouse. A testament to infinite patience, these embroideries, made with tiny stitches, required countless hours of work. Often simpler, flowers, ears of corn, declarations of love, etc., it is here of great iconographic richness with these interlacings which frame the scene and the rich decoration of the background...
