Stereo Photographic Room
Antique wooden stereoscopic camera, 18 x 24 cm format, black bellows with burgundy leather reinforcements. Anastigmat AFR Paris lenses, 180 mm f/6.8. Circa 1900. Since drawer cameras were always too bulky and heavy to transport, manufacturers had the ingenious idea of placing a leather bellows between the two bodies of the camera in order to reduce its size and weight. Thus, these "new generation" cameras could become foldable and offer a quite remarkable aesthetic quality. Dimensions of the closed camera: 30.5x35x20 cm
