Stefano della Bella (1610-1664). Issus d’une famille de peintres, sculpteurs et orfèvres, il entre à l’école de Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione (Grechetto) et de Gasparo Mola, orientant alors son attention vers le dessin et la gravure. Il se met bientôt à dessiner des figures et à copier les eaux-fortes de Jacques Callot. Il se rendra ensuite à Paris où il travaillera pour le Cardinal de Richelieu.
