Beautiful, large, heavy circular bronze plate with dark patina, from  Renaissance period, Italy? circa 1600, presenting birth of Aphrodite, according to one legend formulated by Theogony of Hesiod: the beautiful goddess would have been created in waves of Paphos beach, on Cyprus island: Titan Chronos (with scythe), having defeated and castrated Ouranos, his seed thrown into the sea had given birth to the beautiful Aphrodite, daughter of Sea and Ouranos.
Beautiful cast bronze, superb original patina, quality and era are prestigious.
