Sculpture 17-18e Siècle : St Jean L’évangéliste Et L’enfant, Discovery Condition
Artist: Art Religieux
From the storage areas of an antique dealer in our Drôme region, who was unable to complete its restoration, here is a rare religious sculpture, full of charm and beauty: infant Jesus holding the hand of his cousin, prophet John the Baptist, who was a constant presence in his youth.
An anonymous sculpture from 17th or early 18th century, carved from wood untouched by woodworm,
St. John displays a rather ruined original polychromy, with Child having been incompletely stripped.
The subject is quite rare, both figures are beautiful, and authenticity is evident.
64cm x 43cm x 18cm, weight: 3.7kg.
Discovery condition, well visible on our photos.
Available for immediate purchase, payable by credit card or PayPal.
- eclectic - We are not experts, but have been in the business for over 50 years.
Hassle-free refund in case of disappointment.
