Artist: Paul-édouard Delabrierre
Dog sculpted in bronze by the sculptor and animal painter Paul-Edouard Delabrierre. His signature appears on the work. Brass base. Beautiful details in the coat and in the musculature of the animal. Édouard Delabrièrre first studied painting with the painter Jean-Baptiste Delestre before turning to sculpture. He exhibits regularly at the Salon des artistes français from 1848 to 1898 and obtains an honorable mention in 1859. June 20, 1867, he married Eugénie Alléon in Paris. Animal sculptor influenced by Antoine-Louis Barye, he almost exclusively executes groups or statuettes of animals. His works in cast iron are published by the Durenne art foundry and by the Val d'Osne foundry under the direction of Pierre Louis Rouillard.
